    Hudler and Hartnell

Anyone have an opinion on Hartnell and Hudler going forward. Hudler was red hot to start and Hartnell laid eggs. Now things appear to shift. I wonder if Hartnell scoring and Hudler cooling is the norm until the end of the season or does Hartnell start laying eggs again and Hudler excels? They are pretty equal in terms of fantasy value in my league at the current moment. The future is what I need to know. lol

    • I think both were and are playing in tune to how their teams have been playing. Calgary started playing obove expectations, and have cooled off big time since then. Philly started 1-7, and people were writing off, not just Hartnell, but the whole team, with the exception of maybe Mason. Since then, Philly has been one of the better teams in that span, and the players production is reflective of that. Personally, I think Hartnell has more fantasy value going forward for pretty much the same reason as in the other reply here.

    • If I had to pick one or the other right now I'd go with Hartnell. He's surrounded by more talented teammates, and is getting top PP minutes. Even if his scoring cools off again, he should still be good for PIM.

      • Yep, as Chris and Blade said, go with Hartnell. He'll at least pick up some PIM for you if he's not scoring.

Hudler has a ton of offensive potential but he's stuck in godawful Calgary (for the moment, anyways). The Flames will most likely have a huge fire sale before the trade deadline as they've quickly become one of the worst teams in the league (they've been shut out in 4 of their last 5 games at home). If Hudler gets moved to a contender, he'd be worth picking up in the future.
