Ok so Hertl is still available in both of my leagues. The problem is that I am already pretty well off in the C position. In one league I have Getzlaf, RNH, and Turris (also Sharp as C/LW). The other league I have Toews, E. Staal (who are both undroppable), and Lecavalier (also Backes as C/RW). Is anyone worth a drop for this guy? Is he going to get availability at the wing?
Hertl's a winger and not a center. I picked him up and am waiting for him to get C and LF status. How long does that take btw?
I thought he'd be a flash in the pan too but I watched him play some games. He's on their first line with Burns and Thornton, and gets PP time. I'm going to keep him for a bit and see how it pans out. I'm not expecting him to be a scoring leader, and would be happy with 60 points.
get rid of Hertl or trade him NOW.... if you wait 2 weeks to trade Hertl.. you will get nothing for him.... remember last year when Winnik was the early leader of the points race due to a hot goal streak at the beginning of the season... how did that work out for him
IMO, even dropping Turris is a big gamble for Hertl. With Getzlaf, RNH and Sharp, you have the depth to take the risk. I can't see Hertl keeping up this pace all year, or even a month. Look at fellow Shark Marleau last year.
