I was just going to ask this question. I though maybe it was my browser but I tried a couple of different ones. I can select but I can't deselect. How do you contact Yahoo to have the check this out?

Yahoo is aware of the problem, here is the status as of March 19:

We are aware that managers do not have the option at this time to remove a player from their Watch Player list.
Status: Our engineers are aware of this concern and are working towards a fix.

my yahoo email account got hacked a couple minutes after I logged into the smartphone app, and sent emails to everyone on my mail list. Same thing happened when I installed the baseball app last season. Never installing one of yahoo's fantasy apps again, even if I can make the blue flags disappear there :-)
Since Yahoo hasn't been able to fix the blue flags yet, a work around I found was to go to the "my watch list" page, select the players you want to remove from your watch list, then click on the "remove..." button on the bottom. Takes a little bit more time, but at least it makes the blue flags go away.
