Man, I feel his passing with a lot of sadness.
He became famous for being black and beaten blue, but he showed himself to be just a Very Real Dude grappling with Life as it came at him, as best he could, over the years - and he had a Good Heart, IMHO. I really liked Rodney King - he showed himself very honestly to The Public, and I wish it hadn't ended so soon for him.
He makes me think of Oscar Wilde's quote, "We are All of Us in the Gutter, but some of Us are reaching for the stars"....
Yes that is sad, Joanie. I heard this news earlier today and it brought back some memories for me. He seemed like a normal guy who was thrust into the National spotlight not because of his choosing.
May he finally find peace now.

He holds a place in American history along with some others that had their actions expose them for what they were and as a direct result of the things done to Rodney King.
Glad I got in before the BS starts.
