Eric Staal has been playing Wing for a while now.
Yahoo should change his designation to (C,W).
Do it.-

He just missed eligibility on the left side about a week ago then the 'canes moved him to RW and I think he has one more start after Sunday to get RW status. ....also one start away from LW status if they decide to start him one more time there. It close :)

there is no magic numbers of starts. That's baseball you're thinking of.

Yahoo lists positions once during the year - at the start. They DO NOT make changes during the season. Embarrassingly, their positions do not always match the lists provided by the NHL and/or the individual teams. Considering the partnership that exists between the NHL and Yahoo, this is quite sad.

Bernie you are wrong. They even show you the changes they have made to players positions. Guys like Pavelski, Frolik, Marleau were all only listed as C to start but now all have dual status. In fact, in almost all cases the player starts with a single designation and then is re-assigned accordingly.
My biggest beefs with the Yahoo positioning are Staal, Burrows, Semin, Sharp, and Fleishmann. (offf the top of my head).
Sharp rarely if ever plays RW and mostly plays LW if he is playing wing. Fleischmann is designated LW,RW but has been centering a line with Semin who has been playing LW on that line. Although to be fair the caps don't really have set lines and pretty much play with whoever is available. -

Maybe you should know a little something about what you're talking about before you open your piehole. It makes you look like an idiot otherwise. If you go to your team page, open the tab marked "Players", click on "NHL Roster Changes", then click "Position Eligibility", lo and behold, an entire list of players with positional changes comes up (albeit most of whom play in the AHL).
And yes, Marleau is one of them. -

I'm pretty sure Marleau was given C status during the season this year. I also do not think that Yahoo makes the changes to eligibility. I believe they get their knowledge from another source, which is weak. Not 100% on either of these points, just mentioning it.

I don't get what the big deal is about dual positions. sure they are nice i dont question that. At the start of the year you draft players based on the positions they play not where you think they play. then we all bitch about them not getting a new position throughout the year. i have guys that have could benefit from dual positions but i didn't draft them that way. i checked other sites and there are more dual posiitons on yahoo than others.

*Sigh*...another moron without a clue.
If I had drafted Burrows to play RW because he ACTUALLY PLAYS RW, I would still be getting screwed according to your theory of drafting players positionally, which we all do anyway. No one in their right mind drafts 12 Cs and then bitches about it later when none of them become wingers. The dual eligibility gives you flexibility in setting your line-ups which can be a distinct advantage in owning such players.
