Who do you think will be picked for the 2010 team USA or who would you pick?

What would your team USA lines look like?

These are the players that were invited to training camp this summer...

Goaltenders: Ryan Miller, Jonathan Quick, Tim Thomas

Defencemen: Tom Gilbert, Tim Gleason, Ron Hainsey, Erik Johnson, Jack Johnson, Mike Komisarek, Paul Martin, Brooks Orpik, Brian Rafalski, Rob Scuderi, Ryan Suter, Ryan Whitney

Forwards: David Backes, David Booth, Dustin Brown, Dustin Byfuglien, Ryan Callahan, Chris Drury, Scott Gomez, Patrick Kane, Ryan Kesler, Phil Kessel, Jamie Langenbrunner, Ryan Malone, Mike Modano, Kyle Okposo, T.J. Oshie, Zach Parise, Joe Pavelski, Bobby Ryan, Paul Stastny

*NOTE* Just cause a player wasent invited to training camp, doesent rule them out 100% of not being on the team...

    Have fun!

    • Miller is your starter for sure, Tim Thomas will play his way to #2.

The 2 Johnsons, Orpik, Scudari, Whitney, and Rafalski are your top 6 and probably Komisarek cause he plays for burke and Wilson

      Byfuglin, Gomez, Drury
      Kessel, Kesler, Kane
      Modano, Pavelski, Brown
      Backes, malone, Parise
Plus Bobby Ryan (Burke loves him)

That’s your team in my opinion. Stastny is dual citizen and could play in place of Malone or backes but think of the team Burke would want.

    • heres my picks..

      Forwards-Dustin Brown,Patrick Kane,T.J Oshie,Zach Parise,Joe Pavelski,Phil Kessel,Bobby Ryan,Ryan Kesler,Ryan Malone,David Backes,Scott Gomez,Ryan Callahan.

      Defense-Erik Johnson,Ryan Suter,Ryan Whitney,Tom Gilbert,Brian Rafalski,Jack Johnson

    • Not to ruin the fun but personally I am salivating at the fact that I get to see what will be the top two lines in hockey... maybe ever.
      Ovechkin - Datsyuk - Semin
      Kovalchuk - Malkin - Kovalev
Now talk about great. You have the 3 finalits for league MVP last year. Three of the top 4 point getters. 2 of the top 3 goal scorers. Wow!!! Team U.S.A., Canada and all the rest better bring some shut down defenders and a shut down line if they will want to compete.

    • latest projections:

      Parise, Stastny, Langenbrunner
      Kessel, Connolly, Kane
      Brown, Kesler, Malone
      Byfuglien, Drury, Wheeler
      Extra: Okposo or JVR

Rafalski, Martin, Orpik, Suter, Johnson, Johnson, Bogosian

    • Paul Stastny could play for USA

In fact: His father, Peter, was a Czech but now a Slovak. Paul, born in Qu?bec City, actually has a 3 way citizenship. So he has a choice of playing for Canada, U.S.A. or Slovakia.

IMO he will never play for Canada cause they are soo depth at this position (Thornton, Crosby, Getzlaf, Lecavalier, Carter, Richards, Toews...) and he won't play for Slovakia considering Team USA is much better...

      • thats pretty much the same reason Brett Hull played for USA. He wanted a guaranteed Olympic spot and Canada said that they don't guarantee anyone anything...so USA jumped on that guaranteed him a spot and their team.

Stastny is a for sure lock for Team USA, but there would be more competition for a roster spot if he wanted to play for team Canada

but I don't wanna compare Hull to Stastny...Hull is still way better

    • I would say:

Other possibles: Blake, Van Riemsdyk, Pominville, Drury, Backes

      Rafalski-E. Johnson
Bogosian and Goligoski should get a good look as well.

Miller Thomas for sure, prob. Anderson as a third

    • I am from Montreal... and, of course I want team Canada to win the olympics. BUT...

I really think team USA have a BIG chance cause they are young and very talented: Here are some pics I would place there:

Forwards: Bobby Ryan, James van Riemsdyk, Patrick Kane, Zach Parise, Ryan Malone, Phil Kessel, Scott Gomez,
Kyle Okposo, David Booth, Joe Pavelski, Dustin Brown,
Dustin Byfuglien, Jamie Langenbrunner, Brian Gionta,
Bill Guerin, Keith Tkachuk, Nick Foligno, Chris Drury,
Tim Connolly, Drew Stafford, Brandon Dubinsky, Brian Rolston,
      Ryan Kesler, T.J. Oshie,

Defense: Tyler Myers, Alex Goligoski, Zack Bogosian,
Erik Johnson, Ryan Suter, Ryan Whitney, John-Michael Liles,
Joe Corvo, Keith Ballard, Tom Gilbert, Brian Rafalski,
Paul Martin, Matt Carle, Mike Komisarek, Jack Johnson,

Goalers: Ryan Miller, Tim Thomas, Jonhatan Quick

      My picks...

Forwards (15): Bobby Ryan, Patrick Kane, Zach Parise,
Phil Kessel, Dustin Brown, Brian Gionta,
      James van Riemsdyk, Kyle Okposo,
Joe Pavelski, Scott Gomez, Chris Drury,
David Booth, Ryan Kesler, Tim Connolly,
      Ryan Malone.

Defense (7) Ryan Suter, Alex Goligoski, Erik Johnson,
Zack Bogosian, Tyler Myers, Jack Johnson,
      John-Michael Liles

Goalers: (3) Ryan Miller, Tim Thomas, Jon Quick

Paul Stastny is a Canadian, born in Quebec city.
Like Brett Hull was born in Canada...

      No Sidney Crosby here...

    • Parise Stastny Kane
      Ryan Kessel Okposo
JVR Pavelski Backes (two huge wingers for pavelski)
Callahan Kesler Brown (one of the best checking lines in the tournament)

      Rafalski Suter
      Johnson and Johnson
      Whitney Hainsey

    • Maybe they should put Keith Ballard on the team as a secret weapon to take out the other goalie, that guy has a hell of a swing!

just be sure to keep him out of his own end at all times!

but really...I hope Vokoun is okay...

    • Might look a bit like this...

      Miller(to start)
Anderson(wasent at camp but would prob get the job over quick)

      Rafalski, Suter
      Whitney, Johnson
      Goligoski, Carle

      Parise, Stastny, Kessel
      Malone, Connolly, Langenbrunner
      Ryan, Pavelski, Brown
      van Riemsdyk, Kesler, Knuble

Parise will get the "C" and the "A"'s will prob go to Kessel and Rafalski
