I've got Mikko Koivu, and with his hot streak lately I've been debating trading him off for another LW.
I'm pretty strong at center (Richards, Backstrom, Carter) and at LW I have Patrick Sharp (with C eligibility), and Ryan Clowe, but I'd like a third.
Would you trade Koivu, and try and bait in a better player thinking the hot streak will soon come to an end... Or keep him and pray the streak stays strong? Or maybe trade another C for LW? And who might you go after in a possible trade?
Keep Koivu. Carter makes better trade-bait. Koivu is delivering on his predicted 'breakout year'.
Getting Kovalchuk is a good idea. He had similar point-per-game numbers early last season and turned it up in the 2nd half. The team he did that with is the same post-Hossa team he plays with this year.
Id also keep koivu, he's carrying the team without Gaborik and with a star winger (Gaborik or other) he would be even better. Id also stay away from Kovlachuck or hower its spelt although he scores alot in the past seasons this year there are issues, maybe hes not happy in atl like has been rumoured plus Atl sucks and other then him and Kozlov (whos on a different line anyway) they have no-one skilled enough to set him up. Versteeg would be better

anyone who would rather have mikko koivu over kovalchuk doesnt know wtf is going on lol
dont get me wrong, i like mikko and i think he is a really good player, but to rather have him over kovalchuk?? especially with kovalchuk being LW eligible and mikko only having C.. gtfo
and as far as your opinion goes luke, if you dont even know how to spell the name of a guy like kovalchuk, you really have no business giving advice. haha
btw, when has atlanta ever been any good? even last year when hossa was there, they played on different lines anyway. no matter who kovalchuks linemates are, hell still finish the year with at least 80 points and 35-40 goals.
yea carter is a star too, but based on his current hot streak, you can get something better for him
i would package carter and some other random player for kovalchuk (who is slumping right now) as many managers are very short-sighted and would think that kovalchuk is gonna keep his cold streak going.
