Recruiting for 2008-2009 - Strained Resources Extreme Fantasy Hockey

    Slight changes for this season:

We are looking for some quality fantasy hockey players to play within our tiered system. SO SIGN UP NOW FOR CONSIDERATION!!! DUE TO ATTRITION, WE HAVE ABOUT 10 OPENINGS LEFT FOR THE 198 TEAM GROUP FOR ’09-‘10…

These leagues are 100% free to play and the trophies are donated/shipped at no expense to the winners. (Masters, Campbell and Wales Divisions ONLY)

One word of caution, WE PERMANENTLY REMOVE ANY PLAYER WHO GOES INACTIVE WITHIN OUR GROUP, BANNED FOR LIFE! WE PRIDE OURSELVES ON HAVING 97% ATTENDANCE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON, WE DO NOT WANT A DRAFT DAY HERO! (…sticks around for the draft then disappears.)

    LIVE DRAFT ATTENDANCE IS CRITICAL!
The most difficult of settings, an intense set of rules, history of our leagues, etc. We've been playing this system since 2002.

    Only the strong should apply!
    * For immediate consideration, go to the following group site: (for new recruits only, there's another one for the established members only.)

You may get bombarded with requests via email...if you don't answer email as a general rule, don't bother joining! We're tough on rookies, just to make sure the dedication is there...the leagues deserve that attention to detail. (* - It's got to be this way, but you've got to go through the motions with us, in order for us to know if you can follow basic instructions!)

    • I've been in this system for about 8 years, and never placed higher than 4th. This is an extremely challenging league, and I would recommend any serious fantasy hockey player to join.

    • I've been associated with these leagues for some time and I will tell you, you won't find a more challenging format anywhere. Words can't explain it, it must be experienced. But you MUST be prepared. Study the format, learn it, recite it in your sleep. Your draft depends on it. :)

    • If you are looking for a very competitive fantasy hockey league, Strained Resources is for you.

I like this format because a total of 540 players are drafted (18 teams * 30 rounds). I feel that many drafts aren't deep enough and there are too many fantasy worthy players on free agency.

I am entering my 4th year with this format and I've enjoyed the competitiveness every year. As you may have read in previous messages, the league is heavily reliant on goalies so make sure you understand the format before you join.

The format started out as one league of 18 teams and grown to 11 leagues of 198 teams so, it is taking off in popularity.

      • We now have openings in the following leagues...We've been in existence since 2001, and the plan is to have 198 players in our tiered system this season (as we did last year...) Please select ONLY one league to join...Live Draft attendance is HIGHLY recommended, as it would be difficult to function without attending it...so pick a time that best fits your schedule!
