Who to Start Message Board
I am currently in the semifinals of my league. I have Thomas and he has just laid a huge goose egg lately. My other goalie is Luongo.
The available goalies that I would consider picking up are:
1)Huet-has also been in the same situation as Thomas splitting starts but the Hawks don't have a set #1 starter. Also, I'm a huge Hawks fan but Huet hater.
2) Hedberg- has been consistent this year nothing to stellar but has okay stats. But he is on Atlanta and he's not on that great of a team.
Here is a link for my team: http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/200277/11/team?&stat1=S&stat2=S_2009
The way I've been using my goalies is that I look at who they play for a week and only play the three and four games if needed to meet minimum requirements against teams that they should beat.
Any thoughts, comments or opinions would be greatly appreciated.
I'd personally go with Lehtonen, he has been playing the best out of all the guys you mentioned. Huet is pretty inconsistent, as you know, and I think Niemi will still probably get the bulk of starts for Chicago from here on in (in spite of his own shaky performances lately -- boy, the Hawks have some trouble in goal right now, don't they?).

Yeah they have all throughout the season. They should have made a move for Vokoun or another goalie and gotten rid of Huet. All he's done since he's been there is basically nothing. This year the Hawks are winning because of the team not exceptional goal tending. They are good offensively and great defensively so if the puck doesn't get to the goalies as much they are likely to look that much better even though they aren't the greatest. Niemi has definitley picked up the slack for Huet.
i just personally dropped huet, he's inconsistent and usually lets in 2-3 goals.
if available, pekka rinne. he's gotten me 4 shutouts in the past 2 weeks. and he's doing phenomenal.
but i wouldn't go with huet. him AND niemi aren't doing too great.
