    help from some pros please???

I joined an 8 team h2h yahoo slow email draft league. My 1st 4 picks were Kemp,Votto, stanton and Bautista. I am thrilled however I need to adress speed now. Do I reach for Altuve, Kinsler,Andrus or rollins now or gran Ellsbury who as of now is out there?. Should I punt steals for now? I plan on taking Eaton and billy Hamilton very late.

    • I would take Andrus and Altuve. I worry about injuries with Ellsbury. I would take Eaton and pass on Hamilton. Eaton has a starting job and will likely be in the leadoff spot. Hamilton may start in minors.

      SAGNOF...grab some late round burners

    • With only 8 teams don't draft prospects.

I'd go Ellsbury from the ones you named. He is in a contract year and will be well motivated.

I'd also consider taking Emilio Bonifacio later in the draft for speed. If he stays healthy he should steal 50 bases this season. (He was on track for 60 bases before his injury last season half way through). As a result of that injury, he may be buried a bit low in the seedings this year and could be a (cough) "steal" for you.

Also moving from the Marlins to the amped-up new Toronto line-up should mean he will be scoring a lot of Runs for you too.

And he has both 2B and OF eligibility in Yahoo leagues. (He should be the Jays starting 2B this season).

    • I'm a Rangers and Cardinals fan, but out of those players I would take Ellsbury first. I don't try to get my real life favorite teams' players on my fantasy teams just for sake of having TEX or STL players. I play fantasy to win regardless.

    • IMO, always draft the best player available. Doesn't matter if he's a stealer or not. Sometimes the draft dictates a different approach then "address this stat, address that stat." Your goal is to maximize value. That being said, you have some very good choices in there that are complete value. Ellsbury is probably the best bet, though he didn't exactly burn it last year.

    • If this is not a keeper league stay away from Hamilton. The only way he sniffs the majors prior to September this year is if the Reds have a OF injury. You have three strong OFs already I'd target a SS that can run, but isn't a zero in other cats. Andrus is a favorite of mine in that regard.

Though honestly any team you could put together in a 8 team league will be pretty much well rounded and elite.
