General Message Board
Clemens, Bonds and Sosa are on the ballot for the first time.
Do they go first time? Do they deserve an asterik by their name for using steroids?
Mcguire has been on the ballot for 7 years. Will he ever make it?
On the ballot the longest. Which one of these guys deserves to go in the Hall first? I like Mattingly myself??
Dale Murphy 15 years
Jack Morris 14 years
Don Mattingly 13 years
Alan Trammell 12 years

Whats your opinion
You cannot tell me that Bonds/Sosa/McGuire, etc... were not Hall of Fame material with or without PEDs. Put an asterisk with any records if you want but they should be in the HOF. Many other players flourished during the PEDs years, but we can all spot the pretenders a mile away, and they have no shot at the HOF. These guys, and a couple more, do.
Will they ever make it? I don't think so.
It is a crime that Jack Morris is not in the HOF. The most dominant pitcher for a solid decade, including championship performances.
But I also do think that Bagwell, Lee Smith, Trammell, McGriff and Murphy (because of 2 MVPs on a terrible team) should all make it in.
People have been doing things to give them an edge in Baseball since the beginning. Technology should not keep players from getting into the hall of fame. Maybe if Selig had policed this a little better from the jump it never would have ballooned into what it did. Sosa is not a first ballot hall of famer, but Barry Bonds is.

Steroids is not a technology, it's a form of cheating to give you an edge over the competition. Technology would be the gloves NFL WR's use now...but because it's legal league-wide, it's not a competitive edge. Bonds, nor any of them, deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. That's a place for quality athletes to be honored for their athletic achievements, not their other-worldly statistics bonanza.
