I ended up installing AdBlock Plus for Google Chrome and add the filter:

##*#mediaiframe

to remove it entirely. Hope this helps some of you.

Everyone should go here and voice their displeasure or at least "like" everyone else's posts complaining about this. Maybe it'll get their attention....

OMG!!! It's driving me crazy

Same here, really getting on my nerves. You would think that clicking on "Close Yahoo! WebPlayer" would actually close the thing for good. I hope it's just a programming error on Yahoo's part that's gonna be fixed SOON!

I agree, how do you stop it? I'm will have to start using another site to check game status if I can't stop this.
