    Couple of questions

Hi everyone. I am new to the forum and have some questions.
First of all I have been playing Fantasy Baseball since 07. I don't know anyone that plays this. Most of my friends, people I know, don't care for baseball anyway. So I have been basically teaching myself this game. I have gone to websites to look for answers to different questions but sometimes that can be a little overwhelming. I always play in a 12 team roto league in Yahoo fantasy baseball. I don't have the time to sit through a draft, so I opt for the autopick option when I set my team. I usually do two teams a year.
Some of the areas that I have trouble with are: trades, and when to start REALLY paying attention to the team (after the all star break?).
Trades: What is the best way to know that I am putting out a fair offer? I don't do many but when I do I try to see what the other person needs as well as what I want/need. When do you start trying to trade? After the season starts when you start to see who is doing what? Do you start right when you get your team (how do you know if they are not worthy of your team or not)?
I typically let my team ride for a few weeks or a month and then start to figure out who can go and who can stay.
Is there a place on line that explains stuff like this in an easy to understand format?
Sorry for the long post, but thank you for any info.
