    Strasburg Not All That

Sure he killed the sucky teams like the Pirates but now that he's facing some of the better teams like the Braves and Mets he's getting exposed. I can't see them letting him have to many more starts like the last 2 before they save his confidence and shut him down. Last thing he needs is to start trying to hard and lose his confidence.

    • Say what you will the kids a monster. He had a rough first inning today the settled in a bit. Every time he got in a bit of trouble he got himself out of it. The game before he was let down by the guys behind him. His team is a joke. Remember the Nats had the number one pick for a reason.

    • what an idiotic post. seriously hes like 5 starts into his major league career and i think hes set some type of record in each of them, im sure the yankees will offer him 400 million in 5 years anyway dude, instead of drafting and building a team the way ur supposed to, the yankees are a joke organization

      • yankees build there team anyway they want to. I rember one time reading one year where one team made money in mlb and all the others lost and guess who made the money it was the one that spent the most. People are willing to pay for a good team and not willing to pay for the sorry teams. of course there are a few teams that can not get the market but alot of cities could do the same thing yankees are doing and fill their stadiums.

I mean it is unfair in baseball to let a team that drafts you to tell you what you will make. This did not happen with strasburg though. I think baseball should set a cap on draft picks so if somebody is drafted below you they will not make more on a contract than guy above them. I think i have heard of this in other sports. i wish strasburg would have moved out of the us so he could demand what he could get in a free market and make mlb decide to look at what i call slavery of mlb. by teams powning players right and nothing the player can do but either sign a contract with them or not play a year and hope he gets drafted by a team that will pay him more fairly.

    • No rookie can put up a sub 2 ERA anymore. He's a good fantasy option but not a number one, just like I said last night. He's a good #2 or great #3 fantasy SP.

    • He'd probably be 4-0 or 5-0 by now. He doesn't get any run support....but yes his mechanics are a little off and he is struggling a little with control.

But next year he will easily win 18 games and strike out like 235 -240 batters.

    • he gave up only two runs, relax

    • At the time he was replaced in the last 4 games, the Nats had 1,0,0 and 0 runs on the board. That's 1 run in the last 25 innings he has pitched (4 games). Even the one run they scored was in the home half of the seventh against KC, when Strasburg was finished pitching, but the replacement hadn't taken the mound yet.

    • tipical yankee fan, ragging on a good player just because they couldnt have him.

    • Hes a really good pitcher, he has great stuff, hes just a rookie tho and so of course he'll give up some runs. But even so, his ERA is low and he only allowed 2 runs today vs the mets. You cant argue the fact that the kid is good, (48 K's thru his first 5 starts is the 2nd highest in the record book) Alls he needs is to take in all advice from the veterans on the staff and go from there
