The trade was based on team B not being competitive in Saves, having no back-up for Chipper, and Posada already at Catcher. I have a surplus of power and could spare Wilson for a more sure thing in Saves. The Commishes' rationale was that I was "stacking" closers" even though he has more than me, He also insisted that Downs was a full on closer and that Team B's manager would not stick around til after June. Totally bogus reasons! Comments welcome.
You appear to be getting the better of the deal, but that's no reason to veto. If both owners are trying to fill holes, i.e. improve their teams, what's the problem. sounds like a meddling, booshdag commish.
Agreed. I guess I don't view any of these players as full on difference makers, but Valverde is the biggest name here, so you win, and that probably helped spur his decision to invoke veto. That said, it's not so lopsided, and he's hard pressed to justify blocking it.

I agree with your point Runny... He has 3 top closer while I have Wagner & Dotel, and I think he is abusing his position as Commissioner to tilt the scales in his favor. I'm gonna beat his ass anyway, lol.
