Hey guys.. this is from a CBS sports league...
to me this trade makes no sense givin the team rosters...
first... here are the rosters...
C. V Mart
SP-Hamels, Hudson, JSantana, Sheets, Zambrano
RP- Nathan, K-Rod
OF- BJ Upton
SP- Carpenter, Lowe, Peavy, Pettitte, Wolf
RP- Broxton, Hoffman
BN- Kotchman, Kendrick, Vlad, Ortiz, ESantana
Here's the trade
Team A gets: Carpenter, Vlad, Holliday, Ortiz, Jeter, Lowe, Peavy
Team B gets: Pujols, Rivera, Oswalt, Hudson, Helton, Matsui
To me, it looks like team A is getting PUNKED. If you look at the rosters, the trade makes no sense as he already has Rollins at SS, would have to play Jeter at utility, meaning Vlad and Ortiz are worthless.
Does anyone see something I don't, or is this a bunch of B.S. like I suspect?
No, I don't think so! Team A is improving it's pitching in the trade by acquiring Carpenter, Lowe & Peavy.
Taking older or injury prone players out of the equation Team A
gets Carpenter, Lowe, Peavy(nice comeback last year), Holliday & Jeter.
I don't understand why Jeter is included, but he can certainly turn around and trade him to another team.
Team B gets Pujols & Rivera. Team A already had K-Rod and Nathan so Pujols is the only real loss in my opinion.
i dont know if its collusion or not but i cant understand giving up pujols...i mean team A is upgrading his SP but i dont see how its worth giving up Pujols to get Carpenter even with Holliday coming back.
