Cruz obviously needs some rest.
It may be a specific injury, or just general soreness.
It's looking less and less likely that he'll play again before the break.
However, unless there's something serious that we don't know, I'd expect him to start playing again after the All-Star break.
Sit him until then.

The problem is really not Cruz (although he has been a bit cold lately), it is the great player of the OFers in the Texas outfield. Andruw Jones has been red hot while Marlon Byrd is on a semi-tear lately too. Then there is Josh Hamilton........he is just coming back from injury and you can be sure that he is going to always get playing time. With Chris Davis being sent to the minors Ron Washington is trying to rotate 5 (David Murphy is also heating up) guys through 4 spots. Cruz has unfortunately been off a little lately while the other 4 guys are hitting the ball well. He will get his playing time back.
