300 or 500? History is being made
Tonight Randy Johnson will be pitching for his 300th win. Everyone needs to be watching. This will be the last time we will ever see a pitcher win 300 games. The sad thing is most of you wont even care. Most think the 500 HR club is the most prestigious club to be a member of. Look at that list Bonds, Sosa, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro, A-Rod, Manny Ram?rez, and Sheffield... all proven cheaters. The only proven pitcher? Roger, the Rocket... 300 wins will never be reached again. Think about, IN todays game, if a pitcher wins 20 games he almost a shoe in for the CY Young... For someone to reach 300 wins they would have to basically win the CY Young for 15 years!!!! Dont miss out on your chance to see history be made...
Now I know some of you are thinking, there HAS be someone to reach it... well here are some stats...
Johan at 30yrs old.. has 116 wins... needs at least 18 wins a year for 10 more years... probably wont happen..
Halladay at 32 yrs old... has 140... needs 20 wins a year for 8 years to get there...
CC... at 29.. has 122...needs 16 wins a year for 11 years... but with his frame he wont last that long...
Not looking good... 300 wins maybe steroid proof... Dont miss out, your kids may ask you someday where you were win Randy won the last 300th game ever....-
You have CCPed this post for 3 days are you Randy Johnson? is so kinda desperate for viewers arent ya?
If not you have single white female tendacies or your like Robert Deniros Charecter in the fan very obbsessive of Randy Johnson in this case.

Really... so you didnt ask your dad if he saw Pete Rose hit his 3000 hit? Or Wade Boggs hit his 3000th... Or Cal and his iron man streak?... I guess you are just not a TRUE baseball fan. I will never forget (steroids and all) Bonds 500,600,700 HR... or Glavine's 300th...

The worst part about the 300 club is that it doesnt even matter how good of a pitcher you are to be honest. It's your durability (to be able to play 20+ years) and the team you are on. If your a yankee pitcher for 20 years and they are putting up 5 runs a game...better chance to get a win than if your pitching for the padres.

For 20 years you have to win 15 games a year... If you pitch for that long and win that much, then you are one of the greatest pitchers... wow.. people are really down grading this.... crazy...
-
When Glavine won his 300th they also said he would be the last one to achieve that!...anything can happen....with cc playing for the yankees and johan playing for the mets...wins shouldnt be too hard to achieve...and DOC? doesnt matter what team he plays for...hes a sure 20 game winner yearly if he stays healthy!

And no one said glavine would be the last 300 game winner... except himself! That was why it was such a big deal. He said he would be the last one.. But go check the articles.. almost every journalist said Randy would get there by playing one more year...

Halladay has only won 20 games 2 times in 11 years....
-
Sheffield was mentioned in the Mitchell Report, also the 300 win club is more prestigious, and full of shit. 500 Home Runs a player has (more so than a win) control over.
22 wins and Brandon Webb lost the Cy Young Award last year, and didn't deserve based on wins. -
300 is just a number. Really, it's no more significant than win #299 or win #301. Let me know when he gets to 511 wins and then I'll start to care.

just a number? if ever there was a sport that puts stock in milestones such as these, it's baseball. i think 300 wins is a very big deal. it's one of the most exclusive clubs, unlike 500 homers which is being severly diluted by players who will never ever see the hall of fame, steroid allegations or not. i guarantee that every player who wins 300 games or more will see the hall of fame (besides good old Roger, who knows what his status is).
i hope Johnson gets it tonight, he really should considering he's playing the Natinals

sheffield? have not heard his name ever being considered steriod use. 300 will be again seen someday just not that many. 300 how about cy young record in wins. the pitchers are nothing unless they get to cy young record or maybe walter johnson. now that is a club. people even said hard to imigine sheffield used steriods 40 hrs club is about all he did. mostly just 30 hr season hard to say steriods there.

I think you need to read the post again... I said rocket WAS the only proven pitcher on steroids....
-
