BIG TRADE
just offered in a keeper league
I give soriano ibanez and lester
I get Hamilton ellsbury and garza-
i'd do it. purely from a "potential" point of view, youll be losing out on a bit of power since ibanez will obviously hit more power then ellsbury, but im assuming you need some speed and picking up ellsbury is gonna steal a ton of bags and score a ton of runs. he's gonna be similar player to jose reyes, though of course with a bit less value being an outfielder. hamilton is just coming into his own as a 27-year-old and with kinsler and young in front of him, he will almost always have someone on base (and many times in scoring position) when he comes up to hit, meaning a ton of rbi and around 30-35 homers. plus he'll steal you 10 bags. soriano has got to be one of the most over-rated players in fantasy, as he's sooo inconsistent and constantly hurt. he could go 40-20, but i think he's more likely to have a year similar to his last 2-3, hurt, with a low average and declining steals. that guy is just plain scary, cuz when he slumps for weeks at a time, boy do you feel it... ibanez should hit 20-25 dingers, but an old guy having to learn a new league might spell some prolonged slumps, which you cant afford with soriano. you are giving up a very good young pitcher in lester, but garza is a solid young guy on a contender as well, and the difference really wont be as much as these guys are making it seem. the only way i wouldnt do this trade is if you really dont care about your batting average and are in dire need of power. otherwise i think you come out on top of this one given hami, ellsburys and garzas upsides, and given soriano and ibanez inconsistency/age.

thanks...solid feedback!

and given its a keeper league, the hami side of the deal is the obvious way to go
-
dont do it man.

I might do it... though it depends on what you need. You're giving up HRs (Soriano + Ibanez) for SB (Ellsbury). Hamilton will help out in HRs, but not enough (I imagine). I think Garza might be a better pitcher than Lester... but that's a toss-up. BUT... Soriano + Ibanez are on the downside of their career while all the guys you are getting are on the upswing (consideration in a keeper league).

thanks for the feedback guys...this is a keeper league..... I am hoping I have enough pop to make this work.....

Dont Do It. Soriano will keep it up the whole year and Lester will get back to form soon. Ellsbury hasn't proven he can get on base and Garza is not as good as Lester, if you compare pitchers
-
that is a bad trade in ur favor i believe. Soriano is having a better year than hamilton, and lester is much better than garza for what u get from comparing ibanez to ellsbury
-
thanks any other feedback??

Agreed, dont do it.
-
don't do it. ellsbury and hamilton have not proven enough. I love ellsbury and I wouldn't do it.
