WHY IS MY TEAM SO BAD? (OPINIONS APPRECIATED)

you definately wanna pick up kendric before someone else does. He's on the angels, and they're known for stealing bags. He finally came back from the DL so expect him to catch fire soon.

At catcher Do something about navarro, he has average but thats about it. No power, which leads to no run production and doesn't steal bags. AJ pierzynski has been hot latey, try flip floppin through catchers, perhaps even barajas, he's been lightin up the plate.

First base, you're good with morneau

2nd base, i'm telling you, get kendrick.

3rd base, aramis is arlight, but if you can somehow package a trade for either braun or wright, do it. Maybe aramis and a closer for either or. Then you can turn around and pick up fuentes and fill the void. You can always improve at 3rd. Aramis has tendancies of going on streaks.

SS, rollins is a great player, only players ahead of him are hanley and reyes respectively. If you can upgrade to either or, without giving up too much, do it.

OF- you can improve on your OF even though you have Soriano, he's great, but he's way too streaky. try to get magglio in there somehow. I'm sold on crawford, even with a bum right leg, he will produce alot. As well as sizemore. But to really improve your stealing bags, go for ichiro, he's making up in that category for his lack of power. Maybe packaging a deal for him would do you wonders. I'm all about packaging players for one, because you can always replace people on the FA market. There is no point keeping 4 bench players, they're not producing anything. So why not trade away a good player and an above average player for an allstar player? For example...

I traded miguel cabrera, James shields, Wang for ARod. Grant it, i can't replace the strikeouts and wins from these two players, but my pitching stunk anyways. My ERA is the worst in the league, i have the most losses, and i have the least wins. My other pitchers stunk, nobody on the FA market thats even close to being good, so i switched my team, balanced out my offense, and improve on my saves category.. With 4 closers (hoping to make it 5) i'm almost guranteed 3 of the 5 pitching categories (saves, ERA, and losses) and always pounding the offense. I traded always alot of my players to end up with this team....

    V. Martinez
    R. Howard
    I Kinsler
    A Rod
    M Tejada
    G Sizemore
    M Ordonez
    D Young
    J Thome
    A rowand
    S Rolen

My pitching is done for the year, since re-doing my team this way, i moved from 12th to 7th in a 3 week period. i'm .5 games out of 6th, so we'll see how it turns out. In the playoffs, you only need to win 6 categories, not all 10. So why not work on guranteeing 6 categories?

    • I really like your approach, i tend to do the same thing, package good bench players for an allstar..although you have set a pretty good lineup, i think you might have to improve on that still to really move to the top, idk if thome is playing a utility or how big your league is, but i would recommend getting young thome and rowand for a quality OF to really fill the lineup out all the way, then i'd say you are set..the infield is definitely great..kinsler is great in there, 5 tool player..maybe the best one this yr.

      • yah thome is kinda killing me. I really like rowand though, i was checking out his previous couple of years, and he respectively averaged 25 hr's, over .320 average, 80 runs and 80 rbis. I know he is on the giants, but batting 4th in a lineup with an average of .330 can do great things. I traded away milton bradley for him thinking that bradley might end up on the DL soon or hit an umpire. I'm trying to get ichiro, i'm offering Vmart and Thome for him, i'll probably even through in Young. I forgot to mention i have Doumit on my DL coming off this friday. I'm impressed with the way he was playing before the stint.
