    ask me a question!

new thread. i'll add some general thoughts:

for H2H - it's important to study your upcoming opponents for the month. keep your bench flexible so you can make the appropriate roster adjustments in order to match their strengths. your roster's flexibility, at its core, will enhance your own strengths

a healthy CLIFF LEE can return to form, r BETENCOURT will close - borowski out at least three weeks. ACCOSTA will close - he'lll get a couple weeks of work with both soriano and moylan down. CUDDYER - one of the best protected in baseball is on his way back

LONGORIA - he's worth the risk on zero information if one ever was, just like CUETO and VOLQUEZ, they're keepers. R JOHNSON is back. WELLEMEYER is droppable, he doesn't have the innings in him to start all year. get CREDE, THOME, Y ESCOBAR, LONEY off your bench or trade them

keep your top 100 slumpers on the bench. you won't lose your season by missing a hr, but several 2 for 20's will hurt. this is fantasy, why suffer with them. the first 150 draft picks are not droppable. garner interest with the trading block tool

in leagues where closers are scarce, pick those up that are getting chances if you can afford it. even if you don't need them, someone else will. it's trade bait that can lfill your needs later

for h2h: it's important to study your upcoming opponents for the month. keep your bench flexible so you can make the appropriate roster adjustments in order to match their strengths. your roster's flexibility, at its core, will enhance your own strengths

Welp, what you think bout this and who you think i should start. as of now this is who im going to play today. The kouz had an awsomeday last night but usually look at the research page and the match ups. so far its ok but the people i bench had outstanding days like kouz

      • i preach beching the slumpers and managing day-by-day, but really this fb is like teaching a kid to ride a bike, they struggle at first, but once they're moving, they're gone

to the other extreme, playing someone the next day because they had a good night before is like an addict chasing the dragon - you'll never catch it just right, or at all, most likely

the key here is to take a good look at your players and decide for yourself who will have the best numbers in the end. they all slump, and maybe you can sit them against certain matchups, but know for yourself who should eventually get the most playing time, and then play them most of the time

    • I'm in a 20 team deep league. The draft was Monday and was autopick. Here are the statistic settings:

      Hitting: H/AB R 1B 2B 3B HR RBI SB AVG OPS
Pitching: IP W CG SHO SV OUT K HLD ERA WHIP

I'm especialy concerned about the bullpen. Here is my roster, but my question is, which players would you deal, and who are the best under the radar relievers to go for? I have no saves at all, right now...I am also concerned about speed, doubles, and triples...

      • all these stats are dizzying. well, nick johnson is a keeper. he's a doubles machine w a grest ops. you have the right bats; irod, crosby is decent (is y betnecount avail-), rowand, stairs...

vidro can go. i worry about whether sanchez will recover. you can use clev- betencourt while borowski is down and acosta while soriano is down. is heath bell or qualls avail-. what about millwood - he's already pitched a complete game

the key to winning is timing. most over-manage in the beginning and the end, and under-manage in the middle. i mean, non-winners are not patient; can't wait to pull the trigger in the beginning and the end; and the middle is boring - they'll sleep on matchups and slumps, the very same things they aggressively 'fix' in the beginning and end

    • Hey King, you gave me a bunch of roster advice yesterday and I made a few moves. Here is my new roster. Please let me know what you think.

In regards to my SP's, should I consider dropping Ian Snell for Volquez, Cueto, Maddux or Livan Hernandez?

      C - Geovany Soto
      1B - Prince Fielder
      2B - Chase Utley
      3B - Aramis Ramirez
      SS - Yunel Escobar
      IF - Miguel Tejada
      LF - Carl Crawford
      CF - Torii Hunter
      RF - Jeremy Hermida
      OF - Justin Upton
      BN - Justin Morneau
      BN - Billy Butler

SP's - Roy Halladay, Aaron Harang, Cliff Lee, Derek Lowe, Ian Snell

RP's - Bobby Jenks, Jason Isringhausen, Kerry Wood

Thanks again for taking the time to help me out.

      • like we were saying, i worry about owning too many reds pitchers. others said it was a good move, but i don't think those others were taking the time to appreciate your particular situation

plus, i like snell. if you check his career numbers, he improves every year. it is true that his team costs him wins, but haven't we already seen that from cueto and volquez and a shaky reds relief squad

i always go for experience. i have snell, volquez and cueto on various teams, and have not been disappointed in their stat lines so far, for the most part. if those guys are available now, they'll be available next week. watch these pitchers in their next starts and go w your gut

    • Who to keep and who to offer up in a trade for some SP help.

      My OF:
      BJ Upton
      Josh Upton
      Alex Rios
      Adam Dunn
      Corey Hart
      Nate McLouth
Ryan Braun who is 3b eligible as well.

      • 1 Reply to Benjamin Perri
      • i would keep bj and braun because they are multi-position. dunn will slug, and you need a slugging of. plus, he's slumping and his valuation is down. rios has too many tools to take or trade lightly. you'd need a baseball ace or top tier closer for him, and you're opponents may be hesitant to deal them

that leaves hart and mclouth. hart is worth a halliday/wagner type. you could get the most value for mclouth since he went mostly undrafted and is at least a top 150 player right now, good for a hudson/todd jones type

    • Okay, so I was offered Mets SS Jose Reyes and Cardinals OF Rick Ankiel for Hanley Ramirez... I was thinking that Ramirez is putting up great numbers and living up to his preseason rankings, but Reyes could also be very good and Ankiel seems like he's going to be good too. If I make this trade I either drop Bourne or Greene... Would you do this trade??? Here's my roster.

      C J.R. Towles (Hou - C)
      1B Travis Hafner (Cle - 1B)
      2B Brandon Phillips (Cin - 2B)
      3B Joe Crede (CWS - 3B)
SS Hanley Ram?rez (Fla - SS)
OF ?lex R?os (Tor - OF)
OF Chris Young (Ari - OF)
OF Michael Bourn (Hou - OF)
Util Ryan Braun (Mil - 3B,OF)
BN Khalil Greene (SD - SS)

    • This guy just goes on here and spams the same information, his advice is a joke, take my advice, don't listen to him if you wan't to win your league.

    • Ibanez/Peavy or Abrey/sheets. I would be getting peavy. I do not need the sb's since i have Hanley and figgins.
