I am new to this and am helping my son with his team, so any advice you can give on his team would be helpful. Do I need to trade and what type of trade would make sense? Rate my team or tell me where he needs to improve. He has quite a few players that can play multiple positions.
hello, rankings in yahoo are nice however they are just one
(sometimes questionable) source. 1-10 is usually going to be the same anywhere but once you get into the 50, 60 , 90, 100+ range it gets subjective. Look at cbssportsline.com, mlb.com fantasy page (which has cool baseball cards for each player) and even goole players and click on google news to read up on them......sometimes local publications has an inside scoop on a home prospect. thats what I did with cueto, which thanks to yahoo releasing him on waivers the day before his first start I do not have on my team :) once you know your solid postions, evaluate your real needs (closer) if your league has no max on moves yoiu make take a flier on a young kid that may turn into the next stud. Evan longoria will be up in may so keep an eye out for him
HERE IS THE TEAM
Kenji Johjima (got in draft, will likely not play day games after night games, picked up Napoli to fill in empty games)

how doe that make sense colin s....his team sucks but you think its a three person league, you are just a prick.......Its actally a nice team that could use some work......
of-ellsbury / sheff
thats a nice offence but I would drop a catcher and look for a closer. You might be able to turn texeira into a top starter / closer. Ortiz to first then utility can be anyhting!! and there is value out there. don't sweat closers yet because 10 teams will have new closers by july! Maybe look at outfielders in the FA market. I think it is a good start! depending on the type of league settings you might want a few more pitchers......offense that sits on the bench gets no stats so minimize the bench and look for starters with high k's per nine and low whip (below 1.30). It may not be as good as colins teams since he got the top 23 players in baseball in his one man league, which I am sure he will dominate :)
Well if you can pick up carlos gomez and drop ellsburry that would be great for your team. Your team's glaring weakness from what I can see is speed. The other weakness on your team is saves, you have a solid starting staff but need at least two more closers.
You have some pretty good offense. Not great, but you have some star players in Ortiz, Upton, Texiera, and Dunn. So hold on to them.
I also noticed that you need more saves pretty desperateley. Some good closers that you might find in the FA are Huston Street, Jon Rauch...and if is a small league, possibly Borowski or Chad Cordero.
dump napoli and try to get michael bourn if he's a free agent or billy butler. ur gonna need alot more than that but it would be a start. Also maybe try Xavier Nady in free agency but not in a trade. It is kind of hard to tell you when we don't know how many teams in league and if its standard yahoo stats or a custom league
