although my hitting is horrible and my pitching is amazing, should i trade my pitching away??? if so, for what??
ok do this!!!!
Keep johan and vazquez. trade peavy for a big bat, prince or ryan howard. trade cole for a multi stat guy like bj upton (he's good since you can use him in 2 positions, bonus!) if not maybe granderson. now you still need to make one more big move put putz on the block see what other big OF bat you can get maybe manny (contract yr) or adam dunn (poor avg though, manny is the better choice) if you can't get any 1 to bite on that then move hoffman for sheffield or take a shot with delmon young. trade delgado for an innings eater with upside, maybe dice-k. now your team is solid you might actually win!!!
p- zito(play him situationally)
see if you can move one of your back ups for another rp maybe heath bell or okijima
3 only because you can trade pitchers away, but if the other teams in your league are smart they wont make any deals w/ you 'till the all-star break by then you'll be out of innings and no way will 1 or 2 bats get you back from the mess you put yourself in during the 1st half. make a move now if you can
I'm not sure your pitching is as strong as you think. Obviously, santana, peavy and hamels are studs. Your closers are older and may be susceptible to injury. Putz is solid. I don't like Zito or Schilling. Javier Vazquez is not bad.
But on the bright side, your offense may not be as bad as you think. Tulowitzki, helton, burrell, beltre, kendrick, blalock and sanchez are all solid. I would say focus on getting some help in the OF. Maybe try to get younger in the RP. You could get rid of Rivera and Hoffman, possibly for Lidge, Gagne, Soriano, etc.
I would rate your team as a 6. Upgrade in the OF and your closers and your team could improve up to maybe 7 or 8.
