    Kenbrell Thompkins

How long do i hang on to this guy for?? My WR core is pretty solid IMO! Dez,Marques,Antonio Brown. They just didnt perform this week! My bench WR is Cecil Shorts! Should i target a FA WR? James Jones,Mike WIlliams and Stevie Johnson are the top three! Advice please

    • Personally I'd cut him for Williams now rather than wait. He got the targets yeah but largely by default. I expect him to fade over the season as players return (Dobson this week, Gronk and Amendola soon, and Vereen eventually). All of those guys are more talented than he is and while Dobson needs polish, clearly Thompkins needs plenty too given how horribly he played. At the end of the day, as a WR5 behind your main core he is fine but I would prefer Williams if he is available (Andre Roberts too by the way if he happens to be there)

    • OK. Thompkins is your #5 WR behind Dez, Colston, Brown and Shorts. Why are you freaking out? Did you play him last week over the others? If not, why did it matter? The idea of having low draft pick WRs like him is you are looking for an upside break out. If it happens, you have gotten a gem cheap and he either becomes a starter or a flex or has tremendous trade value for you to help another position. If he doesn't , then you keep him on the bench or get rid of him several weeks in the season. Now is WAY too soon to be doing anything.

    • 14 targets is a lot of targets for a Patriots receiver. If you have the opportunity to hold onto him and pick up Williams, that's what I'd do. One bad week might be a case of nerves. If this trend continues for another week or two, then I'd strongly consider dropping him. I've got him on 3/5 of my money teams. While it is disappointing that he started off horribly, I plan on being patient before dropping him.

    • Thompkins had 14 targets last week, that's a lot. I've heard the Pats want to try it again. If you read his player profile he did about everything wrong that he could, so he has to improve. He'll watch the tapes and will improve but how much as he'll be seeing the top cornerback every week, Cromartie this week. I'm hanging onto him unless I can get Edelman/Thomas/Cook for him.

    • i would see how he does this week with Amendola out before looking at FA. If you go FA, target Williams
