Backup QB for Playoffs in case starter sits

I have Peyton Manning as my starter and right now I have Ponder as my backup. I am worried that when my playoffs start on the 13th, by the finals I may have to play my backup due to manning sitting when there is nothing to play for. Would I be better to play ponder if this happens or pick up henne, Wilson, Vick or Locker. I am definaty not sold on ponder and I am in a 14 team deep league so this is all that is available. I just want to make sure I am going to have a possible starter for a finals if this happens. Or would I be better to pick up Brock osweiler to guarantee a starter. Peyton getting checked for concussion at the half yesterday makes me nervous.

    • I don't think I would worry about it till it happens. Usually when a team sits players, it's during Week 17. For most leagues, Week 16 is the last week. If those are your only options, I think I would just plug and play if I had to. I trust Ponder about as much as I trust any of them.

    • I doubt Manning sits, particularly in week 16. Nonetheless, I don't understand hanging on to Ponder as he has a hellacious schedule and no discernible upside. Take a look at ROS matchups and swap out Ponder for whoever has some potential.

    • If you're going to make the switch, I'd go with Wilson or Henne. Wilson has looked very good lately and the impending loss of his two top CBs mean he might be forced to throw a little more than he has. He's got the weapons and is just now starting to run...could help sve you if Manning does sit.
