NFL's MVP is Payton Manning. Question is WHY?
Why when others like Drew Brees has done so much better. Brees has more TDs and over 5000 yards passing. Only two passers in the HISTORY of the NFL have broken 5000 yds; Dan Marino and Brees in 2008.
Don't get me wrong; I really like Payton, but I think he got a lot of favoritism this year. His team won 12 straight games. He didn't win them, the Colts won. And consider this: the Colts didn't do all that well, afterall they're fighting for the WILDCARD spot.
Did you see the Wild card play-off versus the Chargers? It was very fortunate that the Charger defensive players CAN'T CATCH, because Manning threw the ball into their hands at least three times. Credit San Diego's players for reading the play -- partly, but partly it was Manning with errant tosses.
Higher performers are Brees, Rodgers, and don't forget the winning QB of the San Diego Chargers (Rivers) who has 34 passing TDs to Manning's 27. And what about DeAngelo Williams with his 18 rushing TDs?
No question in my mind -- Manning is the "Golden Boy" and he got VOTES for mvp because of his pedigree and likability, not his performance. No question in my mind - San Diego's defense out played the Colt's offense. Athough Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers are sitting at home, I can also say, so is Payton Manning.-

yeah lets put brees at mvp has team didnt make the playoffs he threw a ton of interceptions its not hard to throw for five thousand yards when you dont run the ball and wing it down the field every play i dont know who is calling the plays but also brees poor decision making cost the saints a playoff shot so just because he threw for five thousand yards shouldnt make him mvp for throwing every play peyton manning tried to run the ball i know they did shitty at the run but they did attempt it every game and that put the colts in a tough spot every game playing catch up from the 2 yard gains from the rush

ya as previously stated...fantasy mvp was brees, cuz the saints sucked. and they went for the wildcard cuz the titans started out 10-0. manning earned the mvp with his performance, and i wouldve given it to harrison of PIT or ed reed before aaron rodgers

River should have been the MVP no doubt after all they went through to get them as far as he did, and he had the numbers. Manning shouldnt even be in the conversation. Brees was great but no playoffs no MVP.

There was no running game with Colts and they WERE 12-4. Addai was banged up all year, the line was getting injured left and right. And the only reason chargers got 8 wins was cuz they are in an unbelieavable easy division this year. Colts went 4-1 against playoff teams and the 1 they did lose to was the Titans which they came back and shutout last week of season. I understand titans had nothing to play for that game, but still I'm sure they weren't playing to get shutout by a rival just before the playoffs.
Not taking away anything from Rivers, but both qbs had to deal with poor running games injuries in the offensive line and overcome a tough start to the season to get where they are now. But the big difference is that Colts had 4 more wins, beat tougher teams, and secured their wild card spot without worrying about winning their week 17 game vs tennessee, while the Chargers limped in and only got in because of a weak division. - View More Messages
