Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I’m in an NL only league (family roto league (5 mgrs), keeper (can only keep 3 position players and 3 pitchers for no more than 3 season with this being the 2nd season), standard 5x5 categories), currently in 2nd down 11.5 pts and I’m looking to make a run at it in these last 40+ games or so (gotta defend my championship from last season!). My cousin who’s on top leads almost every category with me just behind him pretty much in everyone of them. Currently tied for 2nd in steals, last in wins. Was offered by my cousin who's in first his Dee Gordon (who I'm likely to keep next season if trade goes through) and Holliday for my Greinke and Trumbo. I’ve already lost Fernandez due to injury and Samardzija, Street and Grilli due to them going to the AL. Recently traded my Tulo for Desmond and Rafael Soriano. My current team is:
OF: Kemp, Bruce, Trumbo, Heyward
UTIL: Billy Hamilton, Matt Adams
SP: Ross, Alex Wood, Liriano, Cueto, Greinke
RP: Melancon, Papelbon, Chapman, Mejia, Soriano
B: Latos, Cole (who's scheduled to be activated on Wednesday)
DL: Harvey (keeping for next season)
Worth taking? Thanks for the input
I wouldn't take it. I am guessing your cousin is so far ahead in steals that he wouldn't win steals with or without Dee. Holliday has not been the same player and is not really an upgrade over what you already have even if you didn't consider that he has a bum knee. Greike is an elite pitcher and is one of the best keeper option that you have for a pitcher along with cueto.
Trumbo has no value for me right now as he has more steals in the last month than HRs (2-1). So it's essentially Greinke for Gordon and Holliday. Personally, I'd try and add in Blackmon as he's been terrible anyways and get another pitcher in return. Heyward is another guy you should try and dump for something. Failing those two options, I'd take the deal. With Cole coming back you still have decent pitching based on your league and Gordon could help you win steals going down the stretch.
