Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
We keep 6. Current keepers are Cargo, Tulo, Goldy, Jones, Gomez, Kershaw
Get: Harper/Harvey or Strasburg/Brantley
I'm competing for 1st in my league this year, whereas the guy I would be trading with has folded this year. Which side do you prefer, or should I stand pat?
Oh yes. Championship in balance. Still going to have 1 guaranteed elite player in your grasp. WIN AT ALL COSTS. You never know what will happen next season. If you have a title in your grasp, dont let go. If either Tulo or CarGo was going to be back this season, it might be a different story.
I traded away into a championship last season in one of my toughest leagues. I thought I had great keepers coming into this season. Injury (Moore), flop (Miller, Verlander, Carpenter, Segura) and Taveras not playing, I am in 13th of 15 teams. Would I do it again? HELL YEAH.... I have a title. That is worth 2nd place 4 or 5 years in a row. (MAYBE?)
I always prefer bats over arms, so I'd really hate to give up two elite *when healthy* bats. But adding Strasburg & Brantley to your team this season could tighten your grip on the league. So how much do you want a championship? That's the question.

Eric; I agree with Jay. Your going for it this season do the trade as it's the best chance to win it all in 2014. Strasburg and Brantley(at least Strasburg) would be good keepers for next year. I do like Harper/Harvey but at this point your GUESSING on Harvey for 2015. Normally I'd say, like Jay,keep the bats 1st and who doesn't want Cargo/Tulo's upside. But Tulo has a RECORDED HISTORY of being hurt every year. And Cargo is starting to be the same beast every season. If either/both are traded their nos. will probably go down away from Coors too.
