    Keeper Help

The league is 12 Team H2H we get 4 keepers and we lose the round up they were drafted. My team is:
C - Buster Posey - Lose 2nd rounder if kept
    1B - Victor Martinez - Lose 14th rounder
    2B - Aaron Hill - Lose 7th
    3B - Jake Lamb - Lose 25th
    SS - Erik Aybar - Lose 25th
    OF - Brett Gardner - Lose 10th
    OF - Gregory Polanco - Lose 13th
    OF - Chris Carter - Lose 17th
    Util - Starling Marte - Lose 4th
    Util - Billy Butler - Lose 10th
    BN - Dustin Ackley - Lose 25th
    BN - Marcell Ozuna - Lose 25th
    BN - Michael Taylor - Lose 25th
    BN - Jorge Soler - Lose 25th
BN - George Springer (DL) - Lose 12th
    DL - Hanley Ramirez - Lose 1st
    DL - Brett Lawrie - Lose 5th
    DL - Wil Myers - Lose 3rd
    SP - Cole Hamels - Lose 8th
    SP - James Shield - Lose 6th
SP - Hyun Jin Ryu - Lose 9th
    RP - Koji Uehara - Lose 15th
    RP - Casey Janssen - Lose 17th
    P - Cody Allen - Lose 25th
    P - Aaron Sanchez - Lose 20th
    BN - Kevin Gausman - Lose 25th
    BN - Jake Arrieta - Lose 25th
    BN - Wily Peralta - Lose 25th

I'm definitely going to be keeping Springer and Polanco however after that everyone else is up for option. Any thoughts on maybe keeping Sanchez especially if he has a shot at starting next year? Also I won't be keeping Hanley Ramirez because it makes no sense to. As of now i have a top 3 pick and I can just redraft him if I want to next year. Thanks for the help!

    • I would go with Hamels and Shields. Shields is about to head into free agnecy and I wouldn't be supprised if a contender pick him up. Hamels could be traded still this year to a playoff contender

    • No matter what, you have to keep the best 4 players. Problem is, your team is awful. Seriously there's no good keeper options.

I would keep: Polanco, Springer, Hamels, Posey

For that last spot you can make a case for Martinez or Gardner. It'd be nice if you could keep a IF but you have no good ones and I agree 1st round is too much for Hanley.

    • I have to say you made some really really bad draft picks in the early rounds (Posey in the 2nd? Myers in the 3rd? Lawrie in the 5th!!!!?????, etc...) which has kind of put you in a tough spot because those guys have waaay too high of a cost for what they produce. I haven't played this type of keeper where it costs the round you drafted, so I am not 100% sure on the best strategy in terms of keeping players.

Do you just take the biggest bargains (Erick Aybar?), or just the best players that have a reasonable cost?

Hamels and Ryu are reasonably priced, but I don't think I would want to keep 2 pitchers, so I would probably keep Hamels out of those two. Arietta has a nice cost as well, but I am not sure he will repeat his strong performance next year.

For the 4th guy, it is a tough call - but I think I would indeed go Aybar just because of how cheap he is to keep...
