Two big lineup problems - please help me solve them.

My biggest problems are Goldschmidt and Pedro Alvarez. 12 team H2H 5X5. Currently 2nd place 6 games back.
Roster: C Mesoraco, 1B Duda, 2B Murphy, SS Gordon, OF Rios, Pence, Gomez, UTIL Kipnis 2B, UTIL Carter 1B/OF, Goldschmidt DL

SP: Wheeler, Price, A Wood, Duffy, Lackey, Shields, Ervin Santana, D Salazar, Hahn
    Closers: Britton, Cishek, Janssen, McGee

I have been patient with Pedro Alvarez all season but now that Goldschmidt is out I can't afford to keep him - he is just awful...should I drop him or wait for him to turn it around?
If I drop Alvarez my options are: Gillaspie1B/3B, Francisco 1B/3B, Holt 1B/3B/OF, Solarte 2B/3B/SS. Would you drop Pedro for any of these guys? Which one?

Goldschmidt is done for the season and he's on my DL. I have a ton of 2B talent - and I am trying to trade Gordon, Kipnis or Murphy for 3B help before the 8/17 deadline. Javier Baez SS/2B is coming up and I think I want to add him mostly because I don't trust Carter - I think he and Pedro are my weakest players going forward. Baez has been red hot at AAA with 12 HR in last 40 games. Is this a move I should make AND If I drop Goldy for Baez, I would also need to drop a SP...which SP should I drop?

    Thanks for your suggestions...

    • Bod: I might also trade J.Hahn now to possibly a player who's on the fringe of making playoffs and needs immediate SP help. Hahn has about 6-10 starts left, probably on the lower side of that. Padres out of it and won't stress out his arm for nothing. Possibly a Hahn & pedro package for something you said you needed. Could put Hahn & one of your 2B together and get a higher return than other trade option. Possibly shoot for that 1B you need.

    • Try and trade Alvarez to a power needy team with a guy like Shields for maybe Matt Carpenter or David Wright.
