Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I was offered Hanley for Wainwright in a 11 team roto keeper league where we keep 5 guys and the stats are W, K, SV, ERA, WHIP and OBPA for pitchers and HR, RBI, SB, R, AVG and OBP for hitters.
I have Cole Hamels, Garrett Richards, Jake Arrieta and Alex Wood as my other SP's but I also deploy a bunch of middle relievers in Wade Davis, Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller which combined are pretty much like Sandy Koufax in his prime. I also have Doolittle, Cody Allen, Jake McGee and Addison Reed as closers. I'm (+27) innings over the 1425 inning cap and have 57 pitching points which is 9 points away from winning every category.
I have Ben Zobrist and Dee Gordon who are SS eligible but Hanley would be a huge upgrade over Zobrist and would help me a lot. Plus Zobrist could be a backup or fill a UTL spot. Should I do it??
lol why would a league count whip and obpa? is there any difference in the rankings there? cause they are essentially the same thing. regardless, i prefer wainwright, he is too reliable and consistent. hanley is solid and a good upgrade over zobrist so i dont blame you if you take it.

Whip is essentially the same as OBPA just in a different form but we didn't want pitchers to be worth significantly less than hitters so we decided to add OBPA so there would be 6 offensive stats and 6 pitching stats. The other pitching stat options were stupid things like quality starts and #$%$.
I wouldn't. Hanley just got off his third injury of the year and is likely to go down again. Dude must not have drunk any milk as a kid. Wainwright is really the only sure thing you have at pitcher and the younger guys could all regress or wear down as the season goes on. I'd look to trade Arrieta or Richards before Waino. And Zobrist should never be played at OF or UTIL, he just doesn't offer enough of anything to fill those roles. 2b, SS, bench or FA are the only places he belongs.
