Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in a 12-team H2H league (8-team playoff) and have been offered a trade. While I'm not big on accepting it, I'm considering taking it because it blocks off my league leader. I'm in 4th and consider myself a title contender as I'm well ahead of 5th. I just need to ensure I can compete with my rivals in a playoff matchup.
I was offered Jordan Zimmermann for Kenley Jansen.
I don't like giving up an elite closer for a starter but I have been shopping closers as I have 4. I have until tomorrow to take te deal as the owner that offered this was offered a 1-for-1 deal for Zimmermann involving a closer and apparently has until tomorrow to take it. The league leader told me recently he thinks closers are a bit overrated and he usually sets deadlines on when he wants trades accepted by. He also told me he wants to improve his starting pitching so all this leads me to believe he's the other owner.
My rotation is Kershaw, Strasburg, Cobb, Hammel, Chavez, Duffy, Pomeranz and bullpen is Jansen, Cishek, Soria, Melancon, Wade Davis. The league leader has amazing hitting but his rotation is Lee, Price, Latos, Hamels, Fister, Wood, and bullpen is Street(who I bet he's offering), Romo, Nathan, Benoit, Casilla.
I don't normally accept a trade based on what other owners are doing but should I here? Or just reject it?
