Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
12 team , h2h keep 2 ... he only wants mesoraco
I carry three catchers. Mesoraco, Gattis, and Santana. Mesoraco is my catcher, Gattis an outfielder, Santana my third basemen. If some team is unlucky and lose their catcher, I can make a trade for an upgrade to any position. I would keep Mesoraco. My team is in 2nd place, and it's hard not to play all three of these catchers every day.
I think in a keeper I would take Mesoraco over Jeff Sam...it's a tough call because Jeff Sam might be going to a winning team very soon and become a true ace, but I think I'd much rather have a 30HR 100RBI capable catcher - which is very rare these days. Of course Gattis might be capable of 30HR too but I'd rather have Meso than Gattis. I also don't buy the "you shouldn't carry two catchers". I own both Gattis & Mesoraco as well. With Gattis being eligible in OF the 2 catcher rule is out the window. Since you're in a keeper and you own 2 catchers that are likely to hit 25HR or more...I would think about holding out for a better trade. Mesoraco and Jeff Sam are both going to be far more valuable next year.

I like your thought process , but in my league it's nearly impossible to trade and the other gm wasn't budging on the deal , I love mes but i'm not keeping him , cutch/freeman will be my keepers and i'm banking on jeff getting moved to a contender. That looks like the best deal i'm getting for mes , as i stated it's very , very hard to pull a deal off in my league , we avg. about 3 trades per yr with me being involved in like 2 of them , lol.
