    Machado Trade or Drop

So, I think Machado could have some value, but he's riding the bench on my team since I'm deep at 3B. Where I'm a little shallow at is SS and 2B. What I'm thinking is either dropping or trading Machado for a SS, so I'll have some flexibility. What is good trade value for Machado, can I target Starlin Castro? If I drop him, I'd pick up Alcides Escobar or Asdrubal Cabrera.

    My team is below:

    Devin Mescoraco - C
    David Ortiz - 1B
    Brett Lawrie - 2B, 3B
    Todd Frazier - 3B
Ben Zobrist - 2B, SS, OF
    Ryan Braun - OF
    Giancarlo Stanton - OF
    Ben Revere - OF
    Yoenis Cespedes - OF
    Brett Gardner - OF
    Manny Machado - 3B
    Edwin Encarnacion - 1B, 3B

    • It's hard to say who can land for Machado, his value is low. Depending on your trading partner you can get higher value for certain players. For Example, if your trading partner has Hanley and Castro, you may be able to get Castro for Machado. If your trading partner starts Castro and that is his only SS, then you won't be able to get him for Machado. I'd suggest trying to trade Todd Frazier who is a sell high candidate and if needed consider packaging Zoby or Lawrie.

    • Your obvious hole is at second base - I would try to replace Lawrie instead of Zobrist. He brings some category juice but I wouldn't be starting him, especially in a 12 team league (I'm assuming that's what you're playing in).

I also wouldn't trade Machado right now when his value is so low. Maybe trade another player for a guy like Neil Walker (just coming off the DL soon).
