    Joey Gallo

Where do people view Joey Gallo among top prospects? I was offered Gallo for Noah Syndergaard in a 30 team keeper league and was wondering what people thought?

I tend to normally side with the hitter when it comes to dealing top prospects for top prospects because of so many young SPs having arm and shoulder issues.

    • Gallo is ranked around 30 in most updated prospect list. Syndergaard around 10. Keith Law's List is BS I think, so I don't follow or use that to rank prospects. I think Syndergaard has more value though. I don't trust Gallo though. He Ks way too much for my liking. He will walk less and K more from here on out because hes facing much better pitching then the A ball pitching. I also don't think he will hit enough. He could be Chris Davis or a Brandon Wood/Adam Dunn/Mark Reynolds. Id prefer to keep Noah or deal him with someone for Correa or Bryant

    • Gallo is VERY high on my list (which means nothing to anybody but me :-)) but he is also now in Keith Law's Top 25 among other lists and will undoubtedly see his stock and ranking improve on MLB's Top 100 where Gallo ranks 78... but #8 for 3B. He has 40 HR potential and is a big swing and miss guy, but has dramatically improved his plate discipline, earned a promotion to AA, and is still currently mashing. I think he's on the fast track to Texas with aging Beltre, but he also plays a little 1B. He will likely make his debut some time next season. I think he's excellent value for Syndergaard and that your thoughts on him specifically and young pitchers in general are absolutely valid.

    • Ultimate risk/reward in minors. Already has 5 HRs in 4 AA games but 8 Ks also. He has been walking alot though in Class A prior. I'm very hopeful he becomes a monster as I have him several dynasty leagues. Flipped almora for him several weeks ago. His ceiling is prob .270/.360/.600 hitter in big leagues as TEX 3B with 40 HR potential. Or he could fizzle out with too many Ks and .200 average. I would be happy with .260 hitter with 30 HR but hopefully he doesn't get moved to OF as his defense at 3B isn't great they say. Still young though.
