Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
14 h2h...Keeper (only 3)
trying to trade with last place team for Rendon and Pomeranz. i need to clear space with Matt Adams coming off the DL. my line-up is below... being that Rendon plays both 2B and 3B it really doesnt matter which i trade. i'm leaning more towards Carp because i'd rather not have 3 guys on the same team.
C - Montero
1B - Santana
2B - Murphy
3B - Carp
SS - Tulo
OF - Puig
OF - Willingham
OF - Dickerson
UT - McGehee
BN - Tavares
BN - Hunter
DL - Adams
SP - Price
SP - Bummy
SP - Samardzija
SP - Peralta
SP - Hammel
SP - Masterson
RP - Grilli
RP - Soriano
RP - Doolittle
RP - McGee
DL - Harvey (hopefully someone will wanna trade for him for towards the end of the season, or if Tavares doesnt pan out , maybe i'll keep him)
Since you only keep 3... I'm guessing you hold onto Tulo, Puig, Bumgarner... I agree with most below in holding onto Murphy, but I think you had the right line of thinking in dealing an Infielder with Adams impending return from the DL. I'd try to sell high on McGehee while he still has value for either Hamels or Pomeranz... you might have to throw him a Taveras or McGee, but I think it would be worth it. Taveras has lost virtually all his value unless you were able to keep him for next year and McGee is nothing to cry over because the Rays are not winning games at all, let alone creating many Save situations for a Closer by Committee situation that could easily be handed back to Balfour once he gets things straightened out in his side sessions.

i sent the offer of Carp, McGhee and McGee for Rendon and Pomeranz...he came back with Carp and Doolittle for Rendon and Pomeranz.
I tried all that you said, but he had no interest in McGee or McGehee...i sent him an offer including Torii Hunter cause this guy has Seizmore as his 4th OF.
and yes, i Kept Tulo Puig and Bumgarner last season.
Murphy is a much better player than Carpenter. Not sure why Murphy is so underrated, undervalued etc. Yes he plays for the Mets but im pretty sure he still leads the NL in hits. He definitely wont give you more than 12-13 homeruns and 75 rbi but there arent many power hitting second basemen. Murphy is also going to hit anywhere from .285-305 and score 90-100 runs and steal around 25 bases. He is currently batting .305, 40 runs, 5 homeruns, 25 rbi, 10 steals. Im not a huge ranking guy but Murphy is ranked 29th out of all position players in baseball. The only thing i would worry about with Murphy is that he may get traded at some point this year. It certainly wouldnt make sense for the Mets to be stupid and trade their best hitter which is why they probably will. The Mets always do the wrong thing. Mets could have had Abreu, didnt want to pay him and didnt want him because the Mets said they had "an abundance of firstbasemen." Mets could have gotten Cruz for the same amount of money they paid Chris Young.

agreed that the Mets always do the wrong thing...paying Young the money they should have given Cruz was an absolute travesty. I love Murpy, had him last year...has never done me wrong . "an abundance of 1B" HAHAHAHA
