    Draft Strategy!!!

Ok, i am in a newly created 10 team, H2H league. Draft is slated to commence monday night. I am slated to draft in the 6th spot out of the 10 teams in our league, and it is a snaking draft. This is my first time doing a H2H fantasy baseball league. I have played fantasy baseball for a few years, but only in points leagues. I am not sure if draft strategy differs in any way with H2H leagues, and if it does in what ways? The Batting stat categories are as follows: Runs (R), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Total Bases (TB), Batting Average (AVG), On-base Percentage (OBP), Net Stolen Bases (NSB), and the Pitcher categories: Wins (W), Strikeouts (K), Holds (HLD), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Quality Starts (QS), Net Saves (NSV).

I guess i'm wondering, what ratio i use as far as hitter to pitcher early on in the draft? quality starting pitching is at a premium nowadays, so i am leaning towards trying to get a few aces on my team in the early rounds. In one of the mock drafts i did, where i simulated picking 6th out of a 10 team league, I chose Cano with my 1st pick and Wainwright with my second pick. Should i do that alternating hitter and pitcher with each pick? Or go another route? I'm kind of a newbie so any advice would be fantastic!!! Thanks :-)

    • This is H2H. HITTING FIRST. See how the rest of the league is going. Wainwright is great for Roto, but you will continually look back at the missing the offensive points throughout the season. You will rarely look back and wish you had just 1 more win on your team for the week. Only player to consider in 2nd round would be Darvish. Top 3 MUST BE OFFENSE.

    • Pitching is deep as hell. If you take more than 1 in the first 6 or maybe even 7 rounds you are making a mistake. Getting someone like Minor, Miller or Teheran as your second pitcher in the 8-10 round range is more than sufficient. And I'd wait until the 3-4 round range depending on how fast they are going. Sale is basically the cut off for me. I've got to get him or if someone better falls. No need to grab Waino in round 2 when you can get Verlander/Bum/Lee/Sale in round 3 or 4.
