Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Hey there, I have a list of sleepers and busts and was wondering what you guys think of them. I generally tend to favour hitters with a good avg and obp and pitchers with a solid era and whip so keep that in mind.
So what do you think of that list? Do you agree/disagree or have any names to add? I feel like there's some solid sleeper SPs I can grab outside the top 100 picks (ie Harvey, Miller, and Corbin last year) and would like to grab them as it's great value for them and if anything, I could sell high for solid hitter if I feel I have enough pitching to win. Any other names you have in mind?
Also I looked at where Hisashi Iwakuma and Patrick Corbin's ADP are and I feel they're being undervalued. Where would you draft either of those pitchers? Thanks in advance!
Donaldson had 24HR 93RBI 89R and a .300BA last season - why do you consider him a sleeper? Davis, Archer, Gray would qualify as sleepers. Alfonso Soriano will likely hit 30HR and 100RBI again. I expect everyone on your bust list to have a good year except maybe Castro. I got Corbin in the 16th round 12 team H2H league. I shied away from Iwakuma because of injury.

I meant relative to Donaldson's ADP...sorry I should've specified. I'm saying I feel he's worth more than the ADP. What do you think of Tanaka or Jered Weaver as a sleepers? I really want to draft Sleeper ahead of his ADP but unsure where to take him.
I mostly agree mostly with your sleepers. Jayson Werth, Carl Crawford, Nolan Arenado, Kole Calhoun, and Marco Estrada come to mind. At points throughout the season, guys like Tijuan Walker and George Springer could shine, but I wouldn't draft them.
Your busts are based heavily on last year's stats. I think Pujols and Castro are taken around the right spot in drafts. I might even call Casto a sleeper in the sense that he has shown the talent to succeed in years past. I agree with your outfielders Soriano, Puig and Beltran- although I could say the same about many outfielders who get over-drafted when the position is so deep. My biggest busts to add are Chris Davis, Mark Trumbo, and Joe Nathan. I'm also avoiding Jensen and Rosenthal as I think they are getting taken way too early. And call me crazy, but I am not touched Gio Gonzalez or Matt Moore with their mediocre whips unless they fall late.
