I am not fond of Donaldson but he should produce better numbers than Prado (my only other 3B) in most areas. Now I have two 3B on my roster and I can always fall back on the dependable Prado if necessary.
Venable is only a FA because he plays for a non-descript SDP team and he doesn't hit for average in addition to the counting stats he accumulates.
If a 162-game average of 86 Runs, 39 HRs, and 97 RBI (Giancarlo Stanton's 162-game average) is the type of line that would only be owned in "bush leagues," then there are bigger problems than how your fantasy baseball team looks. Unless, of course, you're trolling, in which case, bravo, you got me.

You mean with the.265 average and the 6 SB? For an OF? You know...the position that cranks out the most 20/20 players of any position? The position where the Baseball Monster heat map shows that only 2 non-OF in the past 4 seasons have been GREEN (read: above average in all 5 standard categories)?
Yeah...I have no use for that lack of talent and lack of production.
FYI...through the same age (23)...Pete Incaviglia had the following 162 game averages:
93 R, 32 HR, 93 RBI, 7 SB, .260 BA
Guess who that mirrors?
Guess how that turned out?
Game, set, match...Skippy.

Completely agree. If your league is veto-happy, you may want to create a contingency plan.
That being said, I'm going to somewhat steal from your playbook with a rude comment of my own--did you REALLY need to ask for thoughts/comments on this? Or is there some unique setting in your league that you've withheld which makes this trade much more even than it appears at first glance?
He has Cabrera and Ellsbury so he felt that he could lose Rios and Donaldson and not miss a beat. I didn't disagree with that but he clearly undervalued Rios and Donaldson.
This trade actually frees me up to go after some young power pitchers in the FA pool. That is how I landed Fernandez and Wacha last year.
