Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
What should expect from him in return in a dynasty league?
my main concern is my SS and my SP and since Miggy will loose his 3B next year, already own hosmer and freeman at 1B
if I ask for (Machado, Segura and Bruce) or ( Castro, Harper and Cole) would it be too much?
My team: H2H 14 team
1B- Hosmer, Freeman
2B- Gyorko, Rendon
OF- Pence, Calhoun, Davis (MIL) , Myers (Taveras and Springer)
SP- Teheran, Miley, Smyly, Archer, Miller, Cosart, Eovaldi, Griffin, Ventura
RP- Martinez, Paco, Smith
didnt you just trade for him? i would keep him he is great and irreplaceable right now. his trade value will be pretty much the same throughout the year and before next year so if you are worried about miggy not having enough long term value i think you are mistaken. if you want another good pitcher i understand moving freeman or hosmer though i dont think they will be able to get you a top dynasty ss straight up
A huge return. He's still relatively young and the bets hitter in the game. I would actually say that neither of those deals is ENOUGH. But I would do Machado/Segura/Bruce of the two.
why not try to trade Hosmer for a 3B and keep Miggy? He is only the 1st/2nd best fantasy player and showing no signs of slowing down for the next few years. Gyorko and Rendon both have 3B eligibility so you could always go after another position instead of 3B if you really wanted.
I always want to be on the side of the trade getting the BEST player, and I always want to be the guy trading 2 good guys for 1 GREAT guy if I can. Never the other way around.
Just playing devil's advocate
You should get a monster return. If you can get Machado, Segura, and Bruce, do it, but I don't think the other manager would do it. If you take Bruce out and put in a SP in the 60-80 range, that should be accepted and will still be enough for the trade to benefit you.
I don't think that either of those trade offers is "too much" but fantasy baseball is different than life and the world as a whole.
You DON'T start thinking about "next year" until next year is here or imminent. You should focus on RIGHT NOW. If you build your team for next year, two years, or three years out you will never win THIS YEAR (and most likely won't win in any of the following years).
Worry about Cabrera's performance (or any player's performance) today and for the next 3 months at a time. Don't worry about 6 months or more out because you are free to make changes at any time.
