    • In fantasy, quantity does NOT beat quality. Felix is elite ... but he is no better than a 4-category guy. He is a top-25 player, in all likelihood - but not top-5. Not even top 10.

Goldschmidt is a five-category contributor, and elite in terms of HR's, RBI's. Felix is very good in K's and K rate.

But his WHIP ranked 18th last year, and his ERA 16th. Even with a superior FIP, he is just very good in ERA and K's ... but not elite.

So whom would you rather have - a 5-category guy who is elite in HR's and RBI's (ranking 3rd and 3rd, where those categories can be brutal and feature guys who hit .260 with 0 SB's), and very, very good in R's (6th in MLB last year) and BA (19th in MLB), and oh yeah, tosses in double-digit SB's, or a starting pitcher?

The equivalent would be if Felix posted 278 K's, a 2,12 ERA, and gave you 15 saves on top of that. That is essentially what Goldschmidt is worth.

Further, the Teheran and Rosario additions do not tip the scales. Good-not-great players are not enough, no matter the volume, to acquire in return for an elite 5-category bat. You can draft a C and a good SP'er in the later rounds.

    • you'd have to show the projected keepers for each team before the deal. In a 10 team H2H league, a lot of people don't want to keep pitching so that could ruin you getting Goldy...
