Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Im in a 12 team keeper league. I finished in 2nd in the regular season and lost both playoff matchups to finish in 4th. We get to keep 7 players. Whatever players I don't keep, I want to try and trade for draft picks. I have some obvious keepers but the last couple I am not sure of. This is a list of my players who are remotely worth keeping:
Cano, Andrus, Crisp, Freeman, Granderson, Mauer, Napoli, Sandoval, Zobrist, Bailey, Darvish, Harvey, Felix Hernandez, Latos, Teheran, Ryu.
Who do you think i should keep and which players do you think I should try to trade for picks. Also, do I keep Matt Harvey as he will miss 2014 with tommy john surgery, trade him, or just drop him? Thanks
Trade Harvey if you can get anything good. Teheran looks like he will do well this yr to me. Sandoval has lost weight, and might be headed for a rebound, he is a hitter! Feliz for Bailey? Watch the mocks for potential trades. A little lite in the OF maybe. Taveras STL? Bruxton MN?
Cano, Andrus, , Freeman, , Mauer, , , Zobrist, , Darvish, , Felix Hernandez, , Teheran, . these are the seven i would choose (Teheran over Harvey as you would have to waist a keeper to take him when you don't know how he will recover and pitch after a year off in 2015)
Cano, Felix and Darvish for sure. In a 12 team 7 keeper league any player kept should be top 90 at least. That leaves some real questions. Andrus and Freeman. Last two you probably have a lot of possibilities but i'd go zobrist and harvey.
I'm not terribly thrilled about keeping Mauer, but as Tom said, in a H2H league, pitchers aren't quite as valuable because of streaming. That being said, I can't possibly justify you keeping Crisp, Granderson, Napoli, or Sandoval, so that leaves you with the debate between Zobrist and a 3rd SP. I'd rather keep Bailey than Zobrist since you'll already have a 2B and a SS in Cano and Andrus.
Why is Harvey on your list of keepers? Even a better question why is Andrus even owned in H2H???? I'll stop before I get to Crisp.
You don't have much talent there. Start making trades and dropping dead weight.

Crisp went 20/20 last year... and you'd be wrong for bashing him before that.
His 162 game average over the last 4 seasons is 98 R, 17 HR, 71 RBI, 49 SB. He may not be a picture of health but he's an asset to any team when he's on the field.
Not a keeper due to injury concerns but unless you are playing in a 6 team league he should be universally owned.
Freeman, Darvish, Felix, Andrus, Cano, Latos, Teheran.
My reasons for these are:
Freeman, young 1B with a lot of upside
Felix, elite SP in pitcher's park
Andrus, lots of SBs at a very thin position
Cano I would try to trade.
Latos, should get a lot of wins
Teheran, young with lots of upside
Mauer, Napoli and Harvey are the only other players you listed that I would consider. Try to trade three of them and Teheran and keep the one you don't trade.
I would try to trade Cano for a different 2B and draft picks. If you can get Kipnis straight up for Cano, do it. If not, try for Kinsler plus a draft pick upgrade or Pedroia straight up.
