Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I get to keep 20 this will be my second year in this league that has been running about 7-8 years I took over for the 10th place team (about 45 seconds b4 the draft) and placed 4th out of 12 at the end of the season when I took over my team was very old so I had to make quite a few moves to improve age though I still have some old guys still (Papi last years 1st pick) and was wondering who you guys would keep and any ideas on improving my team ill put a "k" next to guys I have already decided to keep Teams is as follows
1B- Freeman (K)
SS- Castro (K)
IF- Encarnacion (K)
LF- Brantley (K)
CF- De Aza (K)
Util- Evereth Cabrerra
Util- Matt Holliday
BN- Jose Iglaseas
BN- Adam Lind
SP-Toni Cingrani (K)
SP- Joe Kelly (K)
SP- Mat Latos- (K)
SP- Travis Wood (K)
The league counts both holds and saves so ill prolly trade or drop the closers im also tryin to move iwakuma and shields purely on age maybe package them any other ideas on what u guys would do I like leake but not sure if I need a 3rd cincy pitcher....
Add Yadi, Hill, Pence, Cabrera, Holliday, Papi, Iwakuma, Shields for sure. Take away Kelly and Wood. That leaves 5, which many will debate I'm sure. I would add in Gardner, Uehara, Romo, Niese and...kelly.
Keep Yadi (top three catcher)
Keep Everth Cabrera (elite speed and position eligibility)
Keep Iwakuma, Shields, Pence (too good to drop, not too old)
Keep Aaron Hill (good power at 2B)
Keep Romo (young, job secure)
Keep Matt Holliday (better option than Papi due to age, and will offer similar production)
Try to trade Uehera, Frieri, Papi, Nolasco, and Gardner for your last two keepers.
Who's Yadi? Yadier Molina? Keep him. Not many good catchers out there.
Keep Pence and Holliday. Good, not great, outfielders. If you don't want them, I'm sure someone would accept him in a trade of some sort.
Keep Gardner. You got speed coming from anywhere else?
Keep Ortiz. 30 homers doesn't grow on trees.
Keep Iglesias. If Castro craps all over everything again, you'll be glad you've got a good, young backup.
Keep Shields and Iwakuma. Essentially the same deal as Pence and Holliday.
Keep Freiri. You got saves coming from anywhere else?
That puts you at 19. Flip a coin for the last spot.
