  • So, if he signs with the Mariners, is he still your pick in round 1, if he ever was? Just wondering about his numbers in Seattle.

    • he isn't worth a 1st round pick anymore

    • I will not be picking cano if I can help it. if he falls to late second round I might consider, but I don't trust a mariner hitter. the ballpark sucks, the lineup sucks, they will not be competing for a playoff spot and cano will have nothing to play for. you could have said he would play hard because he is a professional and wants to win, but when you leave the Yankees for the mariners you obviously value money more than winning. and....well.... he already has the money. I would consider him at the end of round 2, but would be more comfortable drafting him early round three.

    • He was actually 3rd in my rankings pre season just because of his consistency and the overall thinness (is that a word?) of the second base position. He's definitely fallen since his signing, but he's still the number 1 2B on my board and should still go in round 1 in my opinion. Late first rounder in a 12 teamer.

    • It depends on what other free agents/trades the Mariners get. If they get Choo and another big free agent, Cano should still get .300-25-100 and be a late first rounder. If they don't get any other big offensive pieces, Cano is a late second rounder and should get .290-20-85. As a Cano owner in a dynasty league, I will be shopping him this spring to see what I can get.
