Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
Okay knowing he has a partial tear of the UCL in his right elbow and could be lost until 2015 is he still a Keeper?
Originally I was going to keep Harvey/Price/Fernandez now not so sure about Harvey.
Definitely keeping Price/Fernandez
Other Starters on team are Iwakuma - Alex Wood - Cobb - Wheeler - Jordan Zimmermann and Halladay.
Not even close to enough information here to know.
How many do you have to keep? How many teams?
Depends on the overall number of keepers for if he is or not. Also depends on how many bench spots and DL spots you have in your league for if you can easily stash him for a year.
I think it mostly depends on how long you can keep a person. In my league we keep three players, one has to be a pitcher, and each year we can only extend one player (with a limit of three consecutive keeps per player). Since I have Trout with one more year of eligibility I would not be re-keeping Harvey so keeping him would be a waste. Luckily, my team is competing for the postseason and I have Scherzer so I traded Harvey for a package around Price with plans to keeps Scherzer and try to win this year even if it meant a lower SP for next year. The trade went down Saturday, talk about lucky timing.
If you are in a league where you can keep him long term then it might be worth the risk, knowing you will not get anything until 2015. Otherwise do not. I would likely keep Iwakuma either way.
