Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
9 team roto. Traded Puig/Stanton/Machado for Goldy/Longo. I was stoked with the deal, but then after it started to process Stanton heated up and Puig just kept mashing. Did I give too much? Here is my team post-trade: Did I improve or not?
OF Cargo, J. Upton, Marte
UT Carpenter, Heyward
BN Lawrie, Franklin, R. Martin, Granderson
SP: Kershaw, Wainwright, Sale, Latos
HLD: Rosenthal, Smyly, Hunter (use Smyly and Hunter for their SP eligibility)
SVS: Jansen, Janssen, Cishek, Perez, Melancon
Buyers remorse can be a #$%$, trust me I know. You always run the risk of giving up way too much for little return. If there wasn't the possibility of it going one way or the other it wouldn't be as fun. I'd say you gave up too much but if its done we all gotta live with our decisions.
You gave up too much. Goldschmidt is good but Puig and Machado alone are better than Goldschmidt and Machado. Stanton is a fluffer.
I agree with getting rid of Stanton...but you are a fool to part with the other two.

A fool, eh? That might be a little strong. If it's true that it comes down to Machado/Puig vs. Goldy/Longo I don't see how that isn't at least close? Machado is a young stud, but Longo is likely to be better ROS, especially power wise which is an area my roster has struggled. And Goldy vs. Puig? To me Goldy is clearly the better option there...especially considering I had an abudnance of OF.
Your roster still looks good, but I would've wanted to keep Puig & Machado. I've never been a fan of Stanton. I've traded him every time I had to draft him. Doesn't really look like you have anything to worry about. Goldy & Longo are consistent. Your improvement is that you got rid of Stanton.
