Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in a 12-team H2H league, currently in 1st by 8.5 games, with 7x7 cats with batting cats (R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP) and pitching cats (W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, QS) and was wondering what you think of my team. I just want strengths and weaknesses of the team were in your opinion and if I need to make any big changes if I want to remain a contender and have a shot at the fantasy title.
My roster is currently C - Gattis, Pierzynski, 1B - Allen Craig, 2B - Brandon Phillips, Kipnis, SS - Segura, 3B - Donaldson, OF - Adam Jones, Holliday, Jason Heyward, Puig SP - Kershaw, Verlander, Fister, Miguel Gonzalez, Wade Miley, Brandon Beachy, RP - Mariano Rivera, Grant Balfour, Kevin Gregg, Jim Henderson, Trevor Rosenthal
So then I have a couple questions.
1) In your opinion, is this a team that can stay at the top and be a top 4 fantasy team? I certainly think so but if not, what weaknesses should I adress and how so (ie who could I offer and what should I aim for)?
2) I'm thinking of trying to trade Jason Heyward as I can as I've benched him all year. Should I do so and try to trade for mid-tier SP like Liriano, A.J. Burnett, or Derek Holland? Am I asking for too little there or asking for too much?
Thank you very much in advance!
SP is a little weak. I would trade Puig, personally for a pitcher. Of the ones you mentioned, I like Holland the most. Maybe can do better. Might be able to get Weaver or another top tier SP. Heyward probably has too little value to upgrade your pitching unless somebody really likes him. I'm a little concerned with Verlander. I don't think I'd trade him, but I would bench him for now.

do you think the team i have is a lock to at least make the semi-finals in my fantasy league though? and hopefully get hot enough to win?
For Puig, I'm sure I could try to aim for a top SP like Bumgarner, Sale, or Weaver if I had to. Do you tihnk I should aim for lower-tier SPs if shopping Heyward then? And I agree with what you see about Verlander however I think he has too much talent, that you expect him to bounce back.
