Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
I'm in a 12-team H2H league, currently in 1st by 4.5 games, with 7x7 cats with batting cats (R, H, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, OBP) and pitching cats (W, SV, K, HLD, ERA, WHIP, QS) and am trying to make a 2-for-1 as I have Evan Gattis on my DL and was hoping to at least get rid of him and a player for an even better player. That being said, I plan on making big offers. Here are the offers I'm thinking of:
I get Yasiel Puig and give up Matt Holliday + Evan Gattis
Note: I'm a big believer in Puig and maybe the other owner sees this as a chance to "sell high". Espec cause Holliday has actually been playing well this season. Plus I throw in Gattis.
I get Chris Davis and give up Adam Jones + Gattis
Note: I'm a believer in Davis as well and can see him continuing to hit HRs at his torrid pace. I just wonder if it's worth giving up a 7-cat producer and someone who has always been consistent.
My roster is currently C - Gattis, Pierzynski, 1B - Freeman, 2B - Brandon Phillips, Kipnis, SS - Segura, 3B - Donaldson, OF - Jones, Allen Craig, Holliday, Jason Heyward, SP - Kershaw, Verlander, Fister, Miguel Gonzalez, Wade Miley, Brandon Beachy, RP - Rivera, Grant Balfour, Kevin Gregg, Jim Henderson, Trevor Rosenthal
Should I make any of these offers and could they improve my team? Thanks in advance!
Davis is better than Jones. Its a case of what have you done lately. Davis has hit 37 HR. Jones hit 19 HR. Jones is a great player. But Davis is this years Bautista/Josh Hamilton. If you can get him for Jones and Gattis I'd pull that trigger all day.
You can make any offer you'd like. What's the harm. I don't think Gattis is any kind of a bargaining chip though. He'd be a fun guy to own but where is he going to play in Atlanta? Unless someone gets a season ending injury Gattis won't be a regular and thus has no value in 2013. I wouldn't give you Puig for Holliday but I would give you Chris Davis for Adam Jones instantly.
