Draft and Trade Talk Message Board
so now my team looks like this at the midway point of the season...currently in 1st place by 10.5 points and at or near the top in all hitting cats..scherzer will help with my strikeout situation and wins...3rd from bottom in strikeouts and (i have 3.5 points for wins...10.5 has only 4 wins more than me right now), so that is a nice chance to add points....like my bench with scutaro and markakis...only thing i may hate is laroche being on the bench and he is usually a strong 2nd half player
just completed this deal
I got.....SCHERZER, CARLOS GOMEZ, AND SERGIO ROMO
I gave up.....JOEY BATS, EVERTH CABRERA, AND PARNELL
1b= chris davis
of= cutch, carlos gomez, cuddyer
utility= billy butler
bench= scutaro, laroche, markakis
DL = BEACHY
starters= scherzer, lee, Zimmerman, kuroda, homer bailey
releivers= grilli, Soriano, sergio romo , clippard
1st nice trade, particularly if keeper. CarGo helps mitigate the loss of JoeyBats and Scherez is the real deal. As for the team...Trying to identify holes...Cuddyer is (old and) hitting way above his level right now, maybe try and move him for someone? Butler can't be this bad....hopefully he turns it around. Bailey might be worth shopping. He is legit but in the wake of the no hitter he may be over-valued...overall very good team though. No complaints if you just stand pat either.
Mind taking a look at my post, similarly requesting a team eval?
love the team. your staff is great. plenty of K's and low ERA guys. Your hitting also covers everything, speed, power, average, RBIS and runs, great team and love the fact that you just trades Joey Bats
This will sound condescending, but please read through the whole thing.
In a public league, 10.5 points can disappear in a week. However, most public leagues have a maximum of 3 managers who will even bother playing through the all star break. And many cases only you by the end of the year. With a 10.5 game lead now, with that particular team as I've seen better with less of a lead in their particular league, if you keep managing it there won't be any excuse not to win it by a large margin.
