    Pedroia/Pujols trade

I'm in a H2H $ league. Here is my offense: I'm not listing my utility player because it varies

    C: Yadier Molina
    1B: Adam LaRoche
    2B: Dustin Pedroia
    SS: Ian Desmond
    3B: Miguel Cabrera
    LF: Starling Marte
    CF: Jacoby Ellsbury
    RF: Alex Rios

    David Freese
    Kyle Seager
    Brandon Moss
    Nate Schierholtz
    Evan Gattis
    Yonder Alonzo

I'd really like to upgrade my first base situation. I was offered Albert Pujols and Neil Walker for Starling Marte and Dustin Pedroia.

Even though Albert isn't the Albert we are accustomed to seeing in St. Louis, he is still an upgrade over LaRoche. I hate to give up Pedroia and Marte, but I have Seager who I can plug in at 2nd. I'd be getting Walker in the deal and if he returns to form he could be of some use. I'm losing some average and stolen bases, but I still have Desmond, Ellsbury, and Rios who are all in double figures in stolen bases. I guess my question is this: Is Pujols a big enough upgrade over LaRoche to lose Pedroia and Marte?

    • No way. Pujols is average now at best. 1B is so deep, you can't give a great 2B for and average 1B

    • i would ask for a better second piece than walker, he is pretty useless

    • For me looking at that roster, Pedroia and Marte and not worth Pujols. Neil walker is a disappointment, plus Pedroia is one of the few Top Tier 2B in all the game. I would need a heck of a deal to part with him for that reason. I would counter him for something much more than Neil Walker. He seems to be a throw in. You can find better on the waiver wire im sure like Franklin of the Mariners, not only does he have an impressive line thus far since being called up but he has dual eligibility in 2B and SS.

      • That was my thinking too and that's why I'm on the fence with this. I'm not too high on Walker and I really don't need him, and I told the other manager that. He said he would throw in a pitcher to spice it up, but then did an about face and said that Pujols is better than Pedroia and Marte, so the only other player he would part with is Walker. There's not much on the waiver wire. The people in my league are really on their toes and they tend to pick up anybody with any sort of value.
